If I Saved My Money When I Was Young ...

I was chatting with a good friend of mine a few days back.
He's a professional programmer that is currently working in
a multi-million dollar software company.

As we were chatting, he told me that a 60-year old man was
going for an interview to be a software programmer in his
company that morning.

I began thinking,

"That's awesome. This man is being productive and still
seeks new challenges in his life even at the age of 60!
Most people would have already stopped working."

Then, I paused for a moment.

"What if he's seeking a JOB because he doesn't have any
money to spend at the age of 60?"

Now, let's do a paradigm shift for a few moments.

Neither you nor I (Nor maybe even my friend) may ever know
the reason why this man wants to work again at the age of 60.

But if I want to play the Devil's advocate, I may think
that this man is working because he doesn't have any money.
How can a man end up with no money at the age of 60?

It's almost impossible to believe, but the shocking fact is
that there are many people who can't afford to retire at
that age or work less.

Why?

Lack of financial and budgetary understanding? Perhaps a
total ignorance of financial education?

As I said, it seems almost impossible for a man, at the age
of 60, to have no money. For instance, if you save $2,000 a
year at the interest rate of 8% for only 10 years, you
would have accumulated $340,060 in 30 years!

That's about $166.67 a month. Even if you can't obtain an
investment return as high as 8%, you should still have at
least $150,000 sitting in your bank account after 30 years.

Worst case. If you hid your money under your bed, you still
have $24,000 saving if you saved $100 a month for 20 years.

What could have happened in the last 30 years that this man
did not manage to save his money?

I don't know. There are just too many possible
explanations. But one thing seems certain, the money most
probably was not saved and invested at all. Or maybe it was
squandered or lost on bad investments.

Or maybe – It was not a priority to save that time because
he could be thinking,

"What can I do with $100.00? I can earn that amount of
money easily next month so it's best that I use that money
first this month."

I just can't stress how important it is to be financially
educated.

This financial literacy must be accompanied by it's two
good 'friends', Mindset and Attitude.

Some people know that if they save the money and invest it,
then it can create a snowball of financial freedom, but
they never do it! Why?

You have to master your mindset and attitude first
before educating yourself with wealth knowledge.
A
lot of people don't understand this important fact.

If you think that you have already mastered it, then it's
obvious that you have not.
In fact, you don't know a thing
about it and you demonstrate this merely because you
"think" you know. Just simply by "thinking you know"
closes your mind to everything. Go and ask any wealthy
person whether they still continue to educate themselves
about how to be wealthier. You’ll almost certainly get
'Yes' as the answer.

As I was reading The Infinite Wealth Trilogy by Paul
Counsel, I became embarrassed at how little knowledge I
actually have about financial literacy. There is just so
much information in this book - like how to create a cash
flow income or earn money from capital gains by investing
in real estate.

I couldn't finish reading the ebook in a week – Because
it's a whopping 600 pages!

But like I said, financial literacy alone will not help.
First you need to understand your mindset and attitude.
Once you have successfully done that, then, and only then,
can you use 'this knowledge' for your benefit.

When I was conducting Paul Counsel's 6-Week Millionaire
Coaching Program
, I had the privilege of learning from a
self-made millionaire who was sharing his knowledge of how
to be financially free.

No matter what age you are right now, you can still take
control of your financial future. It's never too late IF
you have the correct financial education and know what
to do to be financially free.
Of course, it'll be
much easier if there's someone to show you the quickest and
easiest way to achieve that.

But then, there's always this little voice telling you the
never-ending sad stories like,

"I’m too old to start."

"I was abused when I was young."

"Opportunity never comes to me."

"I'm in debt."

And the list goes on and on ... and on.

These are probably valid reasons to stop you becoming
financially rich.

WAIT! Did you read what I have just said?

They're probably valid reasons to stop you. Why are you
letting them stop you? Ooh, more reasons.

"I'm too old to start because when I was young I needed to
do this and that ..."

"I was abused when I was young because my parents didn't
love me ..."

"I'm in debt because I spent too much on my credit card ..."

These are probably valid reasons to stop you again.

Do you see the cycle? THE LITTLE VOICE IS STOPPING YOU
IRRELEVANT TO WHETHER IT'S TRUE, VALID OR NOT!

Do you want to know what my advice is? I suggest that you
tell your little voice to take a hike. Tell the little
voice, "Good bye, I don’t need you anymore". You know, and
I know, that it's not going to help you to become rich, so
why keep listening to the little negative voice?

Take charge of your life.
It's YOUR RESPONSIBILTY. The
mighty creator has already done one of the best things in
the universe – He created you. But it's not His (Or your
parent's, your children's, your friends, the government's
and etc) responsibility to make sure that you have a happy
and wealthy life.

You are the one who makes the choices.

Honestly, how would you feel if you have reached the age of
60 (or more) and you still needed to work because you don't
have any money? Do you have that kind of fear? I would
because at the age of 60, I will work because I want to
work, NOT BECAUSE I HAVE TO WORK. That's why I'm taking
control of my financial destiny. You should too.

Sell Yourself to Be Successful in Life

If you want to be successful in life, business, or
relationships, you must learn one simple secret.
That secret is ... you must learn how to sell yourself!

Now before you get too antsy and worried, and
begin to list all the reasons why you are not a
salesperson and you could never do this, please
understand that selling yourself is not about
learning and using finely honed sales skills like
you would in business.

Selling yourself is as simple as the way you
present yourself.

Let's look at a common sense example from
everyday life—yourself!

If you are married, or even dating someone, this
applies to you. Think back to your first date,
or even your first several dates. Remember
the great care you took to make sure you looked
good and were on time.

If you were supposed to pick your date up at 7pm,
you made sure to block out enough time to shower,
do your hair, get dressed in nice clothes, and leave
with enough time to meet your deadline. Perhaps
you even bought new clothes for the occasion!

This is an example of selling yourself. You displayed
interest in your appearance and confidence in yourself
as you prepared for and executed this "sales plan."

We could go on and on about the many other things
you did on your first date to sell yourself, but you should
get the picture from this example. Suffice it to say, if
you began talking about your bug collection on your
first date, you probably stopped selling yourself!

Let’s look at another example, this time from the
world of business.

Suppose you are looking for a dry cleaning service
to use on a weekly basis. There are two in your
neighborhood, and you decide to visit each one.
When you walk into the first one, you are struck
by how dim the lights are, how cluttered the counter
is, and by the fact that you had to wait five minutes
for the clerk to come out to see you. When he finally
does, he looks at the ground while he explains to
you that the lights are so dim because rent is high
and they are trying to cut costs.

So you visit the second dry cleaning business, and
immediately notice a big difference. The store is
bright, the counters are clean, and the clerk is waiting
at the counter as you walk in, with a demeanor that
says to you, "I am ready to serve you." He politely
explains all his stores policies, and you have a
very good feeling as you leave.

Which dry cleaning service will you pick? The
second one. Why? Because the store, and the clerk,
“sold” you on that store. In the clerk’s case, he
sold you on himself.

Selling yourself is nothing to be afraid of. All it
takes is a little self-confidence and a little effort to
display that self-confidence, whether in the form
of your dress, your appearance, your conversation,
or your people skills.

I've shared my strategies how to sell in my
ebook, How To Make More Money Easily.

Why Do Some Affirmations *Work* - and Others Don't?

==========================================
"Why Do Some Affirmations *Work* - and Others Don't?"
- By Jeff Staniforth

==========================================

By definition, an affirmation is a statement repeated time and
again either verbally or mentally -- or written down. The words
of the affirmation statement - in themselves -when spoken,
thought of, or written *without* a pictorial (visualized) or
emotional connection -- make a very weak affirmation.

Affirmations, when worded correctly -- and when emotionally
charged - are able to tap into the unlimited creative power of
your subconscious mind, and manifest your desires.

Affirmations are not all created equal. Some are, of course,
better than others. There are *power affirmations* that have
been proven again and again to work - and I'll reveal some of
them in a moment.

When you examine the structure of these power affirmations, you,
too, can learn how to create your own powerful affirmations for
your specific purposes.

Consider the following:

"I am what I choose to be."
"All my needs are met instantaneously."
"I love and accept myself exactly as I am."
"_____________ comes to me easily and effortlessly."
(Fill in the blank with what you desire.)
"I am now perfectly healthy in body, mind and spirit."
"I now create my wonderful, ideal life."

What do the above power affirmations have in common?

1) They're stated in the present tense.

An affirmation is more effective when stated in the present
tense. For example; "I now have a wonderful job." Avoid affirming
something in the future tense, e.g. "I am going to have a
wonderful job" or the results will always be waiting to happen.

2) They express a positive statement.

Affirmations need to be stated in the most positive terms
possible. Avoid negative statements. Affirm what you do want,
rather than what you don't want. For example: "I am no longer
sick." This is a negative statement. Instead, affirm: "I am now
perfectly healthy in body, mind and spirit." This statement is
much more powerful as it is positive and reinforces your desired
goal and doesn't confuse your subconscious mind with the mention
of the undesirable condition.

3) They're short and specific.

Short affirmations are easy to say, and have a far greater impact
at the subconscious level than those which are long and wordy.
Keeping them specific and to the point adds power as the idea is
uncluttered by extraneous elements.

The mechanics that make affirmations powerful are:

* Repetition
The importance of repetition cannot be overemphasized. It
imprints the affirmation into your subconscious mind.

* Emotions
Get involved, be passionate, and use your emotions. Think
carefully about the meaning of the words as you repeat them
rather than just writing, typing or saying them.

* Persistence
Practicing affirmations with persistence achieves results much
sooner than practicing them periodically. Successive sessions
will have a compounding effect.

* Belief
You don't necessarily have to believe your affirmation initially,
in order for it to work. Belief will grow with your forthcoming
successes. What you do need is the ability to *feel* what it
would be like when the desire you're affirming is fulfilled, or
your need met. Every time that you have a need -- and that need
is met -- a certain "feeling" is produced in you. You need to
evoke that same feeling when you state your affirmation. In other
words, you need to feel with every fiber of your being that what
you desire has already happened. Without this feeling, your
affirmation is powerless.

* Impress Yourself
Personalize your affirmations. They must *resonate* with you --
feel right for you. The stronger your connection with the
affirmation, the deeper the impression it makes on your mind, and
the sooner you will experience positive results.

So there you have it - the simple formula for creating
affirmations that work. Based on the above, you can easily
create your own affirmations to manifest any desire or need you
have in life.

TIP: Although the practice of affirmations is easy, some people
find it challenging to repeat the affirmations continuously while
maintaining the highly charged emotional state necessary in
making affirmations work. DID YOU KNOW... that you can use your
computer to make the affirmation process effortless - and that
you can automate those challenging aspects (such as maintaining
highly charged emotions), and thereby, manifest your desires more
quickly? Go to http://www.affirmware.com.au to find out
